In two years, Sudan has seen its crude oil production fall from 540,000 b/d in the autumn of 2007 to 470,000 b/d and, despite various efforts, the output is not likely to exceed 480,000 b/d in 2010. This is less than half of the 1m b/d target for 2010 projected four years ago.
