China tire case results in new free trade lobby.

The Section 421 tire case that the United Steelworkers won against a surge of Chinese imports has galvanized a new movement against those defending the interests of American manufacturing workers. One such group that has been created to counter any type of U.S. government response to restricting Chinese imports is the Trade Alliance to Promote Prosperity.

The group, created a month ago, was able to generate 2,000 signatures aimed at convincing President Obama to reject the recommendation of the International Trade Commission to impose tariffs on Chinese tire imports.
