Patrick Henry and John Paul Jones were both men of action. One shouted, Give me liberty, or give me death, risking the hangman's noose to guide America to freedom. The other fought for the American cause on the high seas and became famous for shouting I have not yet begun to fight. Both were remarkable leaders, both fought for American independence, and both had their hearts captured by the same woman.

Jones is known as the Father of the United States Navy. The son of a humble gardener, he became one of the great heroes of the American Revolution. Jones struck fear in the hearts of the British by capturing or sinking British ships, and his heroism bolstered American pride and confidence.

During one critical battle, Jones attempted to board a British frigate named Serapis....
