The Emeralds and the University of Oregon announced a deal Tuesday for Eugene's minor league baseball team to play the next 20 years at PK Park.

The two sides have worked out an agreement in principle for the Emeralds to play at Oregon's new baseball stadium beginning with the 2010 Northwest League season, but officials from both groups said it is now up to city, county and community leaders to raise between $2.35 million and $3 million to make the baseball stadium suitable for the Emeralds.

PK Park near Autzen Stadium is being built in two phases for college baseball, but a third phase is necessary to meet minor league requirements, including a locker room and manager's office for the visiting team as well as an umpires' locker room. The improvements would...
