In the world of industrial design, the fascination with all things mid-twentieth-century remains firmly intact. The furniture designs of Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Herman Miller, and Charles and Ray Earnes are now marketed as iconic classics. The television series Mad Men, with its exacting attention to every detail of clothing, hairstyles and furnishings, proffers a picture-perfect encapsulation of life in the advertising world in 1960, a time when the product had become the message and Danish Modern was au courant. Commercially-oriented books on the subject of modern design, and Danish Design in particular, have also proliferated in the past twenty years or so.
