AN ARCHITECTURE competition initiated by Martin Cullen when he was minister of State at the Office of Public Works awarded E500,000 in prize money for designs that have never been used.

Now, the firm that won the E250,000 first prize has admitted to the Irish Mail on Sunday that its design is unlikely ever to see the light of day as the land it was designed for is now to be sold off in separate lots, making the development impossible.
