* Things Don't Like Me: Paranoia, McCarthyism and Colonialism in the Novels of Philip K. Dick is the first book publication for Christian Strowa. It comes from his MA thesis written for a German university. As such, the short book offers some fresh approaches to the works of Philip K. Dick (PKD), but it also demonstrates some of the shortcomings of a MA thesis work. Strowa attempts to bring the tools of post-colonial theory into the realm of science fiction studies in general, and Philip K. Dick's novels in particular. This ambitious project is hurt by the length limitations of a MA thesis; overall, the project shows some merit, and if given time to further develop its thesis and use of primary texts, it will be an interesting addition to current criticism on PKD. Strowa's readings of Dick's novels The Man in the High Castle, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Martian Time-Slip, and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch...
