Advances in technology, young people's social networking skills, globalization of markets and strategic economies, not to mention other intercultural and multilingual connections all point to the fact that these are exciting and also deeply transforming times for the foreign language teaching profession. There exists a plethora of specialized technical journals dealing with research about and practice of language teaching/ learning, each with its own focus and mission, niche market and financial or institutional backing. The publication under review stands on its own for reasons which will be discussed below.
