New bridge, improved port pluses for Delta: region has more to offer large businesses.

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River and served by the U.S. 82 bridge, it would seem Greenville enjoys a huge asset when attracting large businesses to the "Port City." Ironically though, the aging bridge itself has been the area's albatross. Thus, the new bridge that is nearing completion, as well as the new Greenville bypass and improvements to Greenville's port facilities, have many looking toward a brighter future.

"The new bridge is huge," said Ed Johnson, CEO of the Delta Economic Development Center in Greenville. "It will help us land distribution centers and logistics companies. In fact, we're already talking with medium to large logistics concerns."

Johnson is just enthusiastic about the port's facelift.
