As Christianity enters the 21st century, we are told time and again that the Christian landscape has changed rapidly from the Northern Hemisphere and that Pentecostalism, Evangelicals and African Initiated Churches are growing exponentially, especially in the Southern hemisphere. Questions that member churches of the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Roman Catholic Church have been pondering include: Why are these churches growing so rapidly? and, Why are these churches making such inroads in Christianity? Although there might be many answers, I believe that such growth is due to the rediscovery of spirituality or the "thirst for God". At the outset, we can state that the "secret" of the growth of Pentecostalism is that this movement has made the church and the experience of God more relevant to the laity today.
In the process of such growth three media functioning as channels are used through which the communal experience of spirituality are transmitted and experienced: biblical, oral and musical.
