And with banks and the Detroit 3's finance companies pulling back on lending, Honda is looking to acquire more dealer business. It also recently launched a separate captive finance wing for Acura division.

Stephen Smith, senior vice president in charge of all financial services for Honda, Acura and Honda motorcycles, spoke with Staff Reporter Mark Rechtin about what the future holds for the automaker.
