Remember when you used to have creative juices surging through your body and oozing out of your pores? You were just out of college, maybe, and filled with ideas. New ideas! Great ideas! And you brought all those ideas to your new job--and the system beat them right out of you, didn't it? The company bureaucracy sucked your juices dry.

You brought your creativity into the organization, and you immediately ran into something called "an approval process." They didn't teach you about that in college, did they?

You ran into the legal team, whose job, it seems, is to sanitize all communication to the point where nobody even notices it. Because if nobody notices it, the organization can't get in trouble, right?

You ran into crushing deadlines and people who thought that a "communicator" is supposed to be everybody's private publisher. ("We need a poster by tomorrow! Quick, someone call Julie in communications!")

You ran into humorless executives and faceless middle managers who took your creative content and mangled it beyond all recognition.

You learned the hard way...
