Berlin -- Transportation -- Deutsche Bahn orders 22 additional trains for service in Bavaria and Thuringia, Germany

Bombardier Transportation will supply another 22 BOMBARDIER TALENT 2 trains to Deutsche Bahn (DB) AG valued at just under 100 million euros ($140 million US). The total number of TALENT 2 trains ordered by DB now comes to 98.

The new trains will be deployed on the E-Netz (electrical network) of the German region, Franconia from 2011 onwards. The network covers the tracks between Nuremberg, Bamberg and Wurzburg as well as the towns of Sonneberg, Saalfeld and Jena in South Thuringia. The DB Regio subsidiary, Regional- und Stadtverkehr Bayern GmbH (RSB), is due to commence the network's operations at the end of 2011. RSB will use...
