FORT WORTH, Texas - Carter Bell didn't know he was starting until he saw the lineup posted just before Friday afternoon's NCAA tournament opener.

But just in case, he had already done his homework.

Armed with a dead-on scouting report of the Texas A&M pitchers, Bell led an unexpected display of firepower by the bottom of the order as Oregon State raced to a huge lead and held on for a 9-8 victory in the Fort Worth regional at Lupton Stadium.

The win puts the Beavers in today's 5 p.m. winner's bracket game against host TCU, a 6-3 winner over Wright State on Friday. Tyler Waldron (6-3) will start against the Horned Frogs' Kyle Winkler...
