* Waubonsee Community College will host its "Brighter Futures" kickoff event from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Event Room of the Academic and Professional Center on the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide resources and strategies for thriving in a challenging economy. Presentations will be given on conducting successful job searches, finding the right career, maintaining financial health, surviving tough times and more. Other sessions will give an overview of 21st century careers, including a variety of health-care and education fields. The event will also feature a resource fair where attendees can receive one-on-one resume assistance and learn about services offered by Waubonsee and other community partners. A free shuttle will run between WaubonseeAEs downtown Aurora campus at Stolp Avenue and Galena Boulevard to the event in Sugar Grove. For information...
