Article Excerpt Shannon, Arnold William age 85, of Robbinsdale. Born April 24, 1924 - died June 22, 2009. Arne is survived by wife, Ruth Shannon (nee Kleingartner); son, Mike (Sue) Shannon; daughters, Joan (Frank) Konkle and Peggy (Brian) Hansen; grandchildren, Sarah (Thomas) Brundies, Amy Shannon, Heather (John) Hanson, Alan (Dana) Shannon, Tiffanne (Eric) Hastings Greek; great-grandchildren, Carly Shannon Brundies, Joseph Brundies, Zachary Shannon, Anouk Hanson and Lulu Hanson; sister, Carol (Lance) Hawes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Arne was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Louise (nee Kuhnley) and William John Shannon; brothers, Donald, Clarence, Wesley and Earl Shannon; and sister, Ila Small. Arne proudly served in the Navy during WWII, was a member of VFW Post #494 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #292. He had been a member of Brunswick United Methodist Church since 1958. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. Funeral service Monday 6/29/09 at 11:00 AM at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 6122 42nd Ave North, Crystal. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Romaniuk, Mary (Todoruk) passed away on June 16, 2009. She was born on March 23, 1923 to Sam and Anna Todoruk in Mountain Road Manitoba Canada. Mary married Andy Romaniuk on May 30, 1959. They were the love of each other's lives and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special dinner for two. In 1960, Mary and Andy moved to Minneapolis and lived there until 1990 when they moved to Rochester. In 2006, they moved to Kasson and lived at Prairie Meadows Assisted Living. Mary worked at Singer Sewing Machine in Winnipeg and at Justers Clothing Store when they lived in Minneapolis. Mary's favorite activity was spending time with her beloved Andy.
