A man from Chesterfield, his son and a teenager from Bridgeton were killed Friday morning after their single-engine airplane crashed during takeoff from a resort in northern Arkansas.
Two others on the plane - a Eureka alderman and his son - were injured. The three teens on the plane were all students at St. Louis University High School and had gone to Arkansas to camp and fish, a woman speaking for one of the families said.
The Baxter County sheriff's office in Mountain Home, Ark., said the pilot, Warren W. Langford, 52, and his son, Brendan Langford, 15, died at the crash site. Jacob Ritz, 15, of Bridgeton, died at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
