Davar Ardalan's memoir My Name Is Iran describes how three generations of women travel a unique and constant journey between the cultural contexts of Iran and America. Ardalan, a senior producer for National Public Radio, brings another voice to the growing genre of Iranian diaspora literature. While Aradalan's story highlights a family's struggle to exist in two countries often at odds with each other, the historical tone of the book avoids confrontation with politics and gives only sketches of her fascinating parade of characters.
