The Lane County Commissioners said unanimously Thursday that they will consider an offer by the city of Eugene budget committee to swap $1 million in funds in order to open beds at the Lane County Jail.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Faye Stewart challenged a main argument that's being made against spending county money now on jail beds: the concern that state funding to the county will drop sharply in the coming biennium.
