Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area in Bloomington plans to spend about $1.5 million from user fees this summer to boost its snowmaking power.

The ski hill will drill a new well, install new pumps and underground water pipes, and add six new snowmaking cannons to the 14 it already operates.

Under favorable weather conditions, the new snowmaking capacity will allow the park to whiten its 14 runs all at once...
