Waking up every day to the idea that you'll spend your work hours viewing and learning more about Mississippi's sports legends has to make for happy mornings. Michael Rubenstein holds down a castle of memorabilia dedicated to people such as Boo Ferriss and Dizzy Dean. While the job may, like any other, have its ups and downs, one can only imagine how it would feel to be the executive director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. The Mississippi Business Journal jumped at the opportunity to interview Rubenstein on his job and the museum.

Q--How has the economy and/or state budget cuts affected visitation at the museum?

A--Our attendance is down a little, but not nearly as much as when gas was $4 a gallon. Schools were parking buses when fuel was at an all-time high, which lowered the number of field trips while also lowering attendance at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and...
