WITH the sort of childlike selfdelusion for which she has become known, Peaches Geldof has been excitedly regaling friends this week with details of the film part she is confidently predicting will make her a star in Hollywood.

As big-screen acting debuts go, her role as a murder victim in a low-budget, slasher film being shot by two brothers in Liverpool does not, on the face of it, sound like a sure-fire box-office hit.

But who knows? There might well be an audience who would be willing to pay good money to see the precocious Miss Geldof meet her demise on celluloid in a grisly bloodbath.

Only time will tell, of course, but Peaches is almost beside herself at the prospect of beginning shooting the independent movie, called Cross Country, in September.

The only downside, she has confided, is the distinct lack of money she is being offered for her starring role (hardly surprising, perhaps, given that Peaches has never acted before or had any formal training).

But, then, Peaches hardly needs the cash. According to detailed information I have received, she has made more than [pounds sterling]1.2million in a little over a year by cashing in assiduously on what her team of advisers have christened 'Brand Peaches'.

And the astonishing figure has been achieved with the bare minimum of effort. Take, for example, the Mail's revelation just over a week ago that Peaches has been living free for the past three months in the exclusive Mayfair Hotel in London.

The 20-year-old Peaches has negotiated to be an 'ambassador' for the five-star hotel, whose management, in return for the publicity she generates for their establishment, has written off almost [pounds sterling]60,000 of bills for her use of a [pounds sterling]1,200-a-night...
