CHICAGO -- Fitch Ratings has affirmed the ratings for Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE: HUB/B) as follows:

--Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'A';

--Senior unsecured credit facilities at 'A';

--Senior unsecured debt at 'A';

--Short-term IDR at 'F1';

--Commercial paper (CP) at 'F1'.

The Rating Outlook is Stable. There was approximately $497 million of outstanding debt as of March 31, 2009.

Hubbell's ratings reflect its solid liquidity, conservative financial policies and effective restructuring efforts and other cost containment initiatives. Operating results are expected to weaken in the current year as both of Hubbell's segments experience lower demand.
