Brewery marks opening in Gateway area

The Hop Valley Brewing Co. will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. today. Mayor Sid Leiken will be among those welcoming the brewery to the Gateway area. The ceremony kicks off a four-day celebration with barbecues, raffles and tours of the brewery.

Also, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and barbecue are planned for noon on Friday at Archer Floor Coverings.

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is assisting with both events.
