100 days and a trainload of debt
Question: Are you better off now than you were 100 days ago? Anyone?
Over the last 100 days, the Current Occupant has arranged to encumber Americans with more national debt in four years than George "The Buffoon" Bush did in eight years. For the sake of the republic and my grandchildren, I hope he fails.
President Bush ran budget deficits averaging $300 billion annually. After harshly criticizing Bush's deficits and promising a "net spending cut," the Current Occupant crawfished on his promises and proposed a budget that would run annual deficits averaging $600 billion - even after the economy recovers and our troops return home from Iraq. That's "change," all right.
If you actually believed Barack Obama when he said 5 percent of Americans are going to pay their share and the other 95 percent, too, your momma raised a real Charlie McCarthy. The top 5 percent already pay over 60 percent of all income tax revenues.
Furthermore, nearly half of Americans pay no federal income tax at all. They voted for Obama. It's the other half who'll be paying the fiddler. With the national debt currently at $36,000 per American, half will owe nothing and the other half will owe $72,000 each, with a family of four owing $288,000. Which half are you in?
