CORVALLIS - Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield looked ahead to Saturday's culmination of spring practices and had a prediction: "I think we'll be throwing the ball a lot."

It's been that kind of spring for the Beavers.

Minus starting running back Quizz Rodgers, with an offensive line still being put back together and some definite questions about the defensive secondary, Canfield and his backups have been the dominant players in virtually every full-scrimmage situation as the Beavers have shown a definite bent toward the pass over the run.

And that's even with last season's 11-game starter at quarterback Lyle Moevao being held out of all drills as he recovers from shoulder and arm surgery.
