The Eugene Singer Awards, also known as the Best Managed Company Awards, are considered by many to be the pinnacle of business achievement for label printers. The 2009 Singer Awards, four of them, were unveiled February 24 at the Converter Meeting of the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI), held in Naples, FL, USA.

This year's winners are Coast Label, Kopco Graphics, GSI Technologies, and Consolidated Label. The awards, based on numerous performance achievements in the annual TLMI Ratio Study, are given to the top companies in each of four categories based on amount of annual sales.
Each year the awards ceremony presents the winners with the opportunity to thank their employees for their contributions to the coveted recognition. This year's event was no exception.
Coast Label, based in Fountain Valley, CA, USA, is the winner in the small company category for the second consecutive year. President Craig Moreland was effusive in his praise of the company's employees. "The credit goes to the people who do all the work in the company. They are amazingly good sports," Moreland said.
