Two candidates, Linda Fleming and Duncan Swenson, are running April 7 to be the next Palatine Township supervisor. Fleming, an Inverness Republican, holds the post presently and is running for re-election. Swenson, of Rolling Meadows, is the Democratic challenger.

Q. What are your top three issues?

Fleming: To continue to reduce deficit spending while running the township government in an efficient manner but still be able support the needs of the residents of Palatine Township; to continue to expand our many programs that help members of our community improve their lives, these programs help both the

haves and the have-nots of the community. With the economic times we are facing, this will be a growing issue; and we just decided to add minutes of board meetings to our Web site....
