M2 PRESSWIRE-31 March 2009-BUYINS.NET: Market Maker Surveillance Report. Top 6 Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For March 30, 2009(C)1994-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

RDATE:31032009

BUYINS.NET, www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for March 30, 2009. Since late October market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This "fair market making" requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3,075 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1,245 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4,874 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top 6 companies with the largest dollar loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Potash Corp (NYSE: POT), Time Warner (NYSE: TWX), PetroChina (NYSE: PTR), Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB) and Mosaic (NYSE: MOS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change % BuyVol Buy% SellVol Sell% NetVol Friction

POT -$7.11 -8.01% 4,229,110 38.25% 4,539,083 41.05% -309,973 -436

DB -$4.77 -11.30% 753,500 31.95% 882,489 37.42% -128,989 -270

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TWX with a dollar loss Monday of -$6.99 and a Friction Factor of -300 shares. That means that it only took 300 more shares of selling than buying to move TWX lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
