Drew Gagnier has his expectations for Friday afternoon at PK Park when Oregon plays its first home baseball game in 28 years.

"I think this place is going to be rockin'," he said. "It's going to be something special."

Only one thing could make it better: Gagnier himself being on the mound.

That would almost certainly mean the Ducks have a late lead on Fresno State, the defending national champion, because the sophomore pitcher has taken on the role of Oregon's closer, the reliever used to finish up a game for the team ahead.

Think about it: The fledgling Ducks have the lead on the team that won the College World Series last June, and a sold-out crowd is in the stands? And then it all falls on Gagnier to finish it off?...
