Eugene tango enthusiasts may soon be able to dance for joy.

The Tango Center, behind on its rent and slated to be evicted today, has been granted a 15-day reprieve, director Greg Bryant said Friday.

If the nonprofit center can pay $5,000 in back rent by March 15, landlords Tom Connor and Don Woolley will allow the agency to continue occupying the building on West Broadway through the end of the month, Bryant said.

The Tango Center is planning fundraising to come up with the money, he said.
