Les Perry used to stand at the window of his Burrito Amigos outlet on Highway 99 North, look across the thoroughfare at a failed Mexican restaurant in the Gilbert Shopping Center and wonder, "What if?"

Now he knows.

Perry moved his Highway 99 taqueria in late December from the east side of the road into the shopping center on the west side, after completing a $170,000 remodel of the defunct restaurant he had eyed from afar.
