CORRECTION (RAN FEB. 28, 2009):Sports: The Oregon men's basketball team hosts Oregon State at 7 p.m. Sunday at McArthur Court. The day of the game was correct in a story and photo caption on Page C1 Friday, but incorrect in a graphic.
The photograph that accompanies this story, showing Frantz Dorsainvil and Churchill Odia balancing a globe, was taken in October, intended for an early feature on the foreign-born seniors on the Oregon men's basketball team.
But then Dorsainvil suffered a wrist injury that has sidelined him since the beginning of December, and Oregon's season spiraled into a 14-game Pac-10 losing streak and, suddenly, the last home game for Oregon's only two seniors has arrived, against Oregon State on Sunday night in McArthur Court.
"It went by kind of fast," Dorsainvil said, speaking of a career, not just a season. "I didn't expect it to be that fast."
Instead of symbolizing where they're from, the globe now represents where Dorsainvil and Odia are willing to go, around the world to play a game they still love, even though it hasn't always loved them back.
