He cannot remember when he last visited Eugene.

"Oh gosh, don't ask me that question," he says. "It's been a few years ago."

This is all relative, because Ford "Moon" Mullen also says he spent a few summers fishing for salmon in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

"Twenty-three, maybe 24 years," he says. "My wife caught all the big fish."

He and Jessie have been married a few more years.

"Going on 69," he says. "She's a sweet gal."

When was the last time Mullen saw an Oregon baseball game? He's really not sure.

"It's been a while," he says, and the idea is, more than a few years have passed.

The Ducks are playing baseball again, you might have heard. The home opener is today, for the first time in forever. Or a few years...
