SPRINGFIELD - Police say Sherry Varo, who was hit by two cars and killed Tuesday night, may have been text messaging or talking on her cell phone as she crossed East Main Street.

Detectives have subpoenaed the 17-year-old Thurston High School junior's phone records, and said witnesses at the crash say they saw her on the phone.
