Although he's only in his mid-20s, Joe Manis gigged as a jazz musician for almost 10 years before releasing his debut album.

The Portland resident and member of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies will release "Evidence" at 9 p.m. today at Jo Federigo's Hour House Restaurant and Jazz Club.

Recorded in January of last year at Billy Barnett's Gung Ho Studios in Eugene, the CD features 11 tracks of original material and new arrangements of music by everyone from George and Ira Gershwin to Thelonious Monk to what Manis calls an expressionist version of Pink Floyd's "Money."
