Fans of Celtic music can double their pleasure Saturday as Circled by Hounds releases its second CD with two shows featuring two fiddlers.

Circled by Hounds started as a trio: husband-and-wife team Matthew Hayward-MacDonald and Kathryn Claire, backed by the tattooed percussionist who goes only by Vash.

All five of the band's current players play on the new album, "Howl No Demon Louder," but flautist Hanz Araki only joined officially earlier this year. He had recorded with them as a guest.

The Hounds added fiddler Sarah Dee in 2007 after relocating from the Oregon Coast to Portland.

On Saturday, the Hounds follow an early, family-friendly show at Tsunami Books with an evening gig at Sam Bond's Garage. Both performances celebrate the new album.

Circled by Hounds formed on the north coast. But once the core members moved to Portland they figured they needed a bigger sound, Claire said during a phone interview.
