The NBA season is drawing to a close, which means Shaquille O'Neal finally will be able to concentrate on his true calling in life -- coining nicknames.

Though best known as the Miami Heat's imposing center, O'Neal is also a serial nicknamer. He invents nicknames morning, noon and night, possibly in his sleep. O'Neal was the first to refer to Heat forward Dwyane Wade as "Flash." He also was the first to refer to himself as "Shaq Fu." And "Shaq Diesel." And "the Big Aristotle." If nicknames were basketball shoes, O'Neal would be Malaysia.
