Article Excerpt Of 20 Leading Titles, 16 Show Double-Digit Ad-Page Gains
A sweet 16 of b2b titles actually broke the double-digit barrier in year- to-year growth in their August issues, according to the latest figures from IMS/The Auditor (see chart). As we have seen throughout the year, the food chain is faring best among all sectors in this prolonged recession.
Food Engineering (+28.65% in ad pages in August over same issue in 2008) and Food Processing (+15.82%) as well as Food Technology (+9.73%), Progressive Grocer (+11.88) and Convenience Store News for the Single Store Owner (+8.08%) make five titles, or a quarter of the top 20 gainers, for the month all coming from the food category. And while these top gainers are racking up sometimes impressive percentile gains, it is important to keep in mind they do not represent the top performers so far this year. In this list of 20, only Default Servicing News (DSNews, + 60.34%) is in the top 20 gainers year-to-date.
