Newer sensor designs address pH challenges in metal processing.

In many metal producing and processing operations, measuring pH is a critical task. It is central to cyanide-based extraction, flotation processes, various steps of finished product purification, and waste disposal, where pH analysis must be continuous and reliable or valuable product and regulatory compliance can be compromised.

But, metal producing and processing environments are challenging to pH sensors because high heat, harsh chemicals, and coating solids present a constant concern and expense. It's not unusual for standard pH sensors to last only a few days in these operations, and the constant vigilance needed to maintain the sensors in reliable operation can be a particular headache.

New pH technology is resulting in sensors that withstand heat and avoid the effects of coating and poisoning, resulting in a far longer reliable lifetime--generally measured in months rather than days. New refillable designs have longer service lives, which reduces costs and maintenance time significantly.
