Volume of b2b M&A Deals Declines by 42% in Q2.

The value of mergers and acquisitions in the publishing, information and training industries declined by 33% in the second quarter of 2009 compared to the same period last year, according to Whitestone Communications, which tracks acquisitions and investments in those sectors. The trade magazine and trade show category saw a 42% decrease in the number of deals--11 deals in the second quarter of 2009 compared to 19 deals during the same period last year--although the dollar value of the Q2 deals actually increased by 22%.
