Scientific Applications International Corp. will buy R.W. Beck, a Seattle-operated energy, infrastructure and engineering consultancy. The deal includes disaster management and preparedness teams, Beck Disaster Recovery Inc.

Buying Beck's environmental consultants provides additional competency and hundreds of engineers, economists and analysts to concentrate on water-related issues as well, something that could position the listed engineering and infrastructure consultancy to take advantage of business opportunities afforded by Obama administration objectives, said a Cowen & Co./ note posted at Thomson Analytics.
