Changes are brewing in the GigE Vision camera interface standard. In April, the AIA (Automated Imaging Association) issued release version 1.1. Although a minor update, this is the first since the standard was introduced in 2006, and more changes are in the works. The GigE Vision standard committee plans to release another update, version 1.2, by the end of this year, said committee chair Eric Carey, who is also director of R&D for Dalsa, and he added that by the end of 2010, the committee expects to provide support for 10 GigE...
