March 11--Total R&D expenditures for fiscal 2007 (April 1, 2007-March 31, 2008) in Japan were [yen] 18,943.8 billion ($164.7 billion), a record high and 2.6% more than FY2006, according to a survey by the Statistics Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
