The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) recently released its "eValue8 [TM] Cornerstone Report: Measuring the Success of America's Health Plans." Among other findings, the report indicates that health plans have made progress toward the Department of Health and Human Services' Four Cornerstones of Value-Driven Health Care goals in many respects, but there is still wide variation in plan performance, leaving significant room for improvement.

NBCH's eValue8 program is a standardized request for information (RFI) tool that employers and coalitions use to gather health care data from nearly 200 health plans and health insurers. The report consolidates the information NBCH receives and provides a comparison of the performance of America's health plans.
