Long-term ECG monitoring The gerontology market is growing rapidly, as are the costs of health care. Elderly people want to live comfortably and in good health, but the risk of elderly people dying of cardiovascular disease is much higher than for younger people. By using long-term electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, it is possible to detect cardiac dysfunction such as ischaemia, arrhythmia and ventricular fibrillation at an early stage and thereby intervene with early treatment.
