This past year was one of the most pivotal in the history of the corporate travel industry. At stake was whether corporations and the travel management companies that support them would continue to enjoy efficient access to content through their technology provider of choice, an issue fundamental to the success of managed travel programs. Would the corporate travel marketplace be faced with the increased costs and inefficiencies of content fragmentation--inefficiencies we've estimated could cost the industry well over $1 billion per year--or would the industry players work together to bring a balanced solution to the marketplace to best meet the needs of all its constituents?

Now we can say a big part of the distribution puzzle has been put together. Airlines, faced with intense cost pressures, realized some needed distribution cost savings, although not as great as they might have liked, while making long-term commitments to provide full content and service fee...
