Atlanta--Six months after separating the company, renaming it and successfully fighting off a takeover bid, InterContinental Hotels Group is looking to add a brand to its portfolio of five flags.

Two of the company's top leaders--Richard North, chief executive, and Steve Porter, president of the Americas--said they want to grow the company by adding a brand.

"There absolutely is room in our portfolio for another brand," North said. "Franchisees have faith in us and believe in us and are crying out for more growth."

Porter said it's difficult to grow the company's largest brands--Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express--because they are so big.
