Recent events have caused corporate travel managers to reevaluate their roles within their companies. There is a convergence of trends within the economy that is having a dramatic impact on the way corporations and hotels do business. The overall economic downturn, combined with geopolitical uncertainty and--in the wake of major scandals--a new emphasis on corporate accountability and transparency are merging to force a reevaluation of longstanding travel practices related to relationships and commissions.
