Two venerable Miami Beach hotels on Collins Avenue--the Renaissance Eden Roc and the adjoining Fontainebleau Hilton--have undertaken extensive renovations, including upgrading their meeting space, to help distinguish themselves from the steady stream of new properties entering the Greater Miami. market.

Among the new projects underway in the city is a 70-story, 221-room Four Seasons Hotel that is rising on Brickell Avenue in downtown Miami and scheduled to open in October. The mixed-use project, which includes office space and condominium apartments, will be the tallest structure in the country south of Atlanta.
